Our Approach
Our quarterly Socials are simple. They provide a fun, safe environment to meet other local LGBTQ+ folks and our friends. An afternoon of food, conversation and community. Everyone's welcome.
Aside from our Socials, we’ve become more politically active:

Supporting Communities in Northern Nevada
A central goal of the LGBTQ+ rights movement has always been to be accepted and recognized in the communities around us.
There's a saying: If you want a seat at the table, you can't just serve yourself. In the past few years, the Social has raised money for a mix of organizations.
We're proud supporters of Advocates to End Domestic Violence
A central goal of the LGBTQ+ rights movement has always been to be accepted and recognized in the communities around us.
There's a saying: If you want a seat at the table, you can't just serve yourself. In the past few years, the Social has raised money for a mix of organizations.
We're proud supporters of Advocates to End Domestic Violence, Nevada Pride - A Capital City Celebration, and being one of the largest supporters of a statewide food drive.
Within days of SNAP funding being cut by the government shutdown, members of the Social went into action putting together a resource list for those who needed help and for those who could help fund local foodbanks.
Soon, a statewide food drive was formed. We went to bat for communities from Elko to Reno, Ely to Sparks, Fernley to Gardnerville, Winnemucca to Las Vegas, Carson City to Mesquite.
We represented the largest donor organization helping Nevadans in need with 27,900 meals feeding feeding 1,414 people for a week.
While these three initiatives were fundraisers; we are looking for different ways that all of us can help. Community support doesn't have to be only about money.
Giving your time and energy to support local organizations. Let us know of ideas that you have. A caveat: be ready to work for the ideas you have.
